I am an Assistant Professor of Government at Cornell University and author of The Welfare Workforce: Why Mental Health Care Varies Across Affluent Democracies (Cambridge University Press, Studies in Comparative Politics Series).

I study how politics shape the social policies, labor markets, and overall economies of post-industrial societies, focusing on the United States and Western Europe.

This website is a portal to my work in those areas. For more information about my background, please see my CV.
